Hi-Lift HL-484 jack, 4Wheelers Supply - Handle Bracket and Maasdam Jack Mate. The piece of wood in the jaws keeps everything quiet.

Close up photo of the very simple mounting system I came up with. This holds the jack down to the rear 2 hooks in the cargo area of the 4Runner. The black objects are pieces of wood. The large on is piece of a pine 2X4 and the smaller ones are Maple.
Update: September 2004

I wanted to come up with something more sophisticated and less visible than the blocks of wood and hooks. I thought about it alot and built these mounts that actually replace the stock luggage strikers.

Here the new studs are installed, not much is visible and the mount is extremely simple and functional.

Here the Hi-Lift is mounted to the new stud system. Much cleaner look.

While I was at it, I installed the Hi-Lift "Fix it kit". I had a bolt and pin that were bent on my jack.

Here are the new pins installed. It's real important to get the springs above the cross pins and the cross pins pounded in just the right amount or the jack will not work right.
