Double Kick Out Rock Sliders - 4Runner, Tacoma & Mini-Pickup

Along with the Rear Bumper I build for the 3rd Gen 4Runner these sliders are designed for 35" tires on a 3rd Gen 4Runner. The 315/75/16 is a full 12.5” wide, these sliders flow perfectly with that tire width on a 16x8, 4.5” backspaced rim. They will work fine with any rim and tire but are fully optimized for the 315.

Over the years I have had several sets of sliders on my 4Runner, they were quality products and did a good job of protecting the vehicle. Recently I was presented with the opportunity to design my very own sliders. In the past I simply used commercial products and has no say in the design.

The trail the comes to mind the most when designing sliders was Aftershock @ the Hammers. Any slider will do well in most places but a slider groomed just for the Hammers and the Desert in general I feel will do alot better.

The sliders are built from 2"x2", 120 wall square tube as the backbone. The 2"x2" is then TIG welded to superior fit and strength. The outer tube is 2", 120 wall as well. It is extremely strong and large for an outer tube. The inner supports are 1.5", 120-wall tube and the legs are 1.5", 120 wall square tube with scab plates. These things are big and very strong. Only the inner tube is TIG welded the rest of the slider is MIG welded.

The kick out will push the vehicle away form what is ever in the way, the same for the front kick out, when you back up the front will push away. This prevents rocks from falling into the gaps created when a round tube turns inward, creating a gap between the end of the slider and the start of the tire.

These will be available for 2nd, 3rd & 4th Gen 4Runners & Tacomas. You have to weld them to the frame, there's nothing wrong with this when done correctly.  An install guide for the correct procedure will be included with the sliders.

The actual production on these is done by Richard Stubbs of Stubbs Welding, under my direction. These are NOT just re-badged Stubbs sliders. He is doing alot of things here that is only done on the Sonoran Steel Models and the price will reflect that. If you want a set of these you need to contact and buy them through myself @ Sonoran Steel. They will be drop shipped to you from California.

If you want to run 35's on your 3rd Gen someday, start planning NOW!

From the ground to the bottom of the sliders on my 4Runner is 22".  Can you believe that!  Almost a full two feet!
